Location & Directions
Where possible we would always encourage Guests to make use of the public transport links between Perth and Stanley village - however we understand if this isn't always convenient, however below you'll find some guides for finding your way to the Hotel.
The nearest international airport is Edinburgh at just over 50 minutes by car and with excellent transport links. Glasgow is around 1 hour 15 minutes away. Dundee is quite close at just 30 minutes however only currently offers limited flights. Both Inverness and Aberdeen Airports are around 2 hours 20 minutes by car.
Visit the appropriate website for detailed information on flights, car hire and transport links
Bus and Coach:
Stanley is well served by the local buses with a bus-stop just 200m from the Hotel front door that will take you to the very centre of Perth. Visit the Stagecoach website for details of timetables of routes that serve Stanley (Stagecoach route 34)
The Megabus and Citylink services operate across Scotland the UK and offer very cheap coach travel and frequent services. Both companies require you to book in advance however (the further in advance the cheaper the ticket). The closest drop off point for both is at the Borxden Park and Ride just on the outskirts of Perth - a frequent shuttle service to the centre of Perth operates from here. Selected Megabus/Citylink services also drop-off in the centre of Perth at the bus station. Visit the website for timetables, routes and more information
The Tayside Hotel has a good working relationship with Tay Valley Cab Company.
Tay Valley Cabs are based in the village and operate through the 'Strathtay' region (from Luncarty in the south upto Dunkeld, Ballinluig and Pitlochry in the North) as well as offering cover for airport and rail transfers to all of the main Scottish airports and stations. As they are Private Hire their rates are set and are very competitive against metered taxi rates. Tay Valley Cabs operate a full-size 8-seater MPV, an executive level 'tourer' and a Premium Executive Jaguar saloon.
You can contact Tay Valley Cabs on 01738 479 565 or via e-mail on email@example.com
Perth has it's own mainline rail station with regular services to major Scottish cities and from there across the UK. Perth is also on the route for the over-night sleeper train from Inverness to London. Unfortunately there are no train links to Stanley so you will need to make use of either the bus services or a taxi. Click here for train information for Perth
